PAI Acquisition

To All Clients & Professional Friends:

David Gensler, president of Madison Pension Services (MPS) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Pension Actuaries, Inc. (PAI).

PAI, one of the largest firms of its kind in the tristate area is a boutique actuarial firm. It specializes in dividing retirement plans in a divorce. When couples get divorced, it is not unusual for one (or both) of the spouses to have any of the following:

A Retirement Plan With Their Employer, Union or Government Entities

  • A Separate IRA Account
  • A 401(k), 403(b) or 457 Qualified Plan
  • A Deferred Compensation Arrangement
  • A Supplemental Employee Retirement Plan (SERP)

These and other forms of retirement accounts are generally marital assets and need to be valued as part of the process of evaluating all of the couple’s marital assets. Once valued, the retirement plan assets can only be split when a Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) is drafted and filed with the appropriate parties (the court, the spouses’ current employer, etc.).

The valuing of these retirement accounts and the drafting of the QDRO are two of the special services that PAI provides to matrimonial attorneys and their clients.

While PAI is separate and distinct from MPS, its services are complementary to the other services that Madison provides for retirement plans.

PAI’s staff (Bob Guarnera, Linda Hunter) moved into MPS’ offices on August 15, 2016. Contact Information:
